A five-year AI learning journey

Aldrich Bay Government Primary School has been exploring how AI can make learning more personal, practical and engaging. LANGO’s AI conversation robot, including the familiar Uncle Tommy character, gives students more opportunities to practise English speaking beyond the usual limits of lesson time.

Technology that supports teachers

The school is also using AI tools to help teachers understand students’ learning needs more clearly. Writing feedback and classroom-insight tools can surface patterns in grammar, vocabulary, structure, participation and lesson design, helping teachers plan more focused support.

Helping children think, not just use AI

The goal is not for AI to think on a child’s behalf. It is to help children question information, ask better questions, protect privacy and use technology responsibly while keeping real-life experience, curiosity and creativity at the centre of learning.
